My Secret Place with God

Book Description

I was inspired to write this book by God, and these prayers are up close and personal with him. I was diagnosed with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis on May 18, 1999 at the age of twenty-nine, and through my struggle, I found myself in a relationship with him who knew and loved me before he put me in time. This book has various names of the Most High God, prayers of thanksgiving, and personal descriptions of who he is in times of trouble. There are Bible scriptures that follow each prayer and relates to them. God wants us to seek him first. (Refer to Psalm 88:13 and Matthew 6:33.) We should always begin our day in communication with God. (Refer to Psalm 63:1.) Let your words set or change the atmosphere around you! Enjoy your secret place with God!

God's Secret Place

Book Description

Do you struggle with intimacy with God? How do we get to know God? Once we get to know Him personally, how do we develop a deeper, more intimate relationship with Him? The struggle of finding and enjoying increasing intimacy with God is real. From birth, each person inherits a God-shaped vacuum only He can fill. Once a personal relationship with Him is established, every child of God faces two deep desires: a longing for deeper intimacy with Him or the desire for freedom from whatever prevents it. But no one is immune from the struggle of finding and maintaining intimacy with God. Does God truly want intimacy with me or does He only get close to certain people? As the Almighty, Sovereign God, why would He want to have anything to do with insignificant me? Is intimacy with God even attainable? I've tried several times, yet nothing seems to work-nothing changes. How can we resist God's compelling love and desire for intimacy with us? What else are we waiting for before yielding and running into His embrace? What prevents us from starting and nurturing intimate time in His presence? God's Secret Place answers such questions with insights from Scripture and through dissecting human relationships. It also inspires the pursuit of nearness with God, identifies four levels of closeness with Him, and reveals the characteristics of those who find and cherish such intimacy. Stevens encourages readers to run to God's secret place-to commit themselves to the pursuit of intimacy with Him. Then, to remain there. We find rest in His presence by presenting ourselves before Him, quieting ourselves from distractions, hearing His whisper, and sensing His heart. He awaits us there.

The School of Christ

Book Description

The ministry contained in this little book has been wrought on the anvil of deep and drastic dealings of God with the vessel. It is not only doctrinal; it is experiential. Only those who really mean business with God will take the pains demanded to read it. For such, two words of advice may be helpful. Firstly, try to remember all through that the spoken form is retained. The messages were given in conference, and the reader must try to get into the spirit and mind of listening, and not only reading. In speaking, the messenger can see by the faces before him where repetition or reemphasis or fuller elucidation is called for. This explains much that would not be the character of a precisely literary production. It has its difficulties for readers, but it also has its values. Of all the books that have issued from this ministry, I regard this one as that which goes most deeply to the roots and foundations of our life in Christ with God. T.A-S.
