Some Applications of Quantum Mechanics

Book Description

Quantum mechanics, shortly after invention, obtained applications in different area of human knowledge. Perhaps, the most attractive feature of quantum mechanics is its applications in such diverse area as, astrophysics, nuclear physics, atomic and molecular spectroscopy, solid state physics and nanotechnology, crystallography, chemistry, biotechnology, information theory, electronic engineering... This book is the result of an international attempt written by invited authors from over the world to response daily growing needs in this area. We do not believe that this book can cover all area of application of quantum mechanics but wish to be a good reference for graduate students and researchers.

Book Description

The papers included in this issue of ECS Transactions were originally presented in the symposium ¿Nanotechnology General Session¿, held during the PRiME 2008 joint international meeting of The Electrochemical Society and The Electrochemical Society of Japan, with the technical cosponsorship of the Japan Society of Applied Physics, the Korean Electrochemical Society, the Electrochemistry Division of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute, and the Chinese Society of Electrochemistry. This meeting was held in Honolulu, Hawaii, from October 12 to 17, 2008.

Introduction To Nanoscience And Nenotechnology

Book Description

This compact introductory textbook in the emerging discipline of nano-science and nanotechnology, presents the fundamental principles and techniques to students of science and engineering. The book presents the information in a pedagogically sound manner, and is especially designed for students of M.Sc. (Physics) and M.Tech. courses in nanotechnology. With the increasing applications of nonoscience and nanotechnology in the areas of biotechnology, electronics, integrated circuits, chemistry, physics, materials science, etc. the study of nanostructured materials is also becoming a core part of undergraduate and postgraduate courses of many science and engineering disciplines. The book emphasizes the underlying concepts of nanomaterials with neatly drawn diagrams and illustrations. Modern applications are included to highlight the relevance and importance of nanoscience and nanotechnology in everyday life. The book should therefore be of interest to students of several disciplines of science and engineering as well as research scholars.

Electrochemical Nanotechnologies

Book Description

In this book, the term "electrochemical nanotechnology" is defined as nanoprocessing by means of electrochemical techniques. This introductory book reviews the application of electrochemical nanotechnologies with the aim of understanding their wider applicability in evolving nanoindustries. These advances have impacted microelectronics, sensors, materials science, and corrosion science, generating new fields of research that promote interaction between biology, medicine, and microelectronics. This volume reviews nanotechnology applications in selected high technology areas with particular emphasis on advances in such areas. Chapters are classified under four different headings: Nanotechnology for energy devices - Nanotechnology for magnetic storage devices - Nanotechnology for bio-chip applications - Nanotechnology for MEMS/Packaging.
