Excerpt from Eighth Annual Report of the Board of Railroad Commissioners of the State of New York, for the Fiscal Year Ending June 30, 1890, Vol. 1 The Object of the recommendation was to make the fiscal year of the State Of New York correspond with the fiscal year adopted by the Interstate Commerce Commission, inasmuch as that Com mission requires annual reports from all the steam railroads in the State engaged in any interstate commerce transactions, which practically comprises all the steam railroads of the State. The railroads were substantially unanimous in favor Of the change, inasmuch as they are thus compelled to make but one annual report instead of two.
