Now That I Am Saved, Now What?

Book Description

This idea first came from watching and hearing televangelists on Christian broadcasts after I had been saved. I was blessed to have a pastor and a church family that embraced me and poured themselves into my life with teachings and testimonies that enhanced my walk with Jesus immensely. I often wondered who were there for the people who received Jesus over the television waves or in large convention centers after the message ended. I'm sure some had pamphlets and flyers to hand out, but in many cases, that is not enough. My book Now That I Am Saved, Now What? is designed to give the reader a quick synopsis and revelation of what you can expect and what is expected from a loving good God who is no respecter of persons. From the cover illustration, you can ascertain that a man is overboard and the men of God have thrown him a life preserver. He is saved, but he seems to be asking, "Now what?" They are all pleased he is saved, but no one seems willing to pull him into the safety of the ship. Jesus is at the helm and will always be the author and finisher of our faith if we trust him fully and follow his lead through his Word.

Stop Asking Jesus Into Your Heart

Book Description

“If there were a Guinness Book of World Records entry for ‘amount of times having prayed the sinner’s prayer,’ I’m pretty sure I’d be a top contender,” says pastor and author J. D. Greear. He struggled for many years to gain an assurance of salvation and eventually learned he was not alone. “Lack of assurance” is epidemic among evangelical Christians. In Stop Asking Jesus Into Your Heart, J. D. shows that faulty ways of present- ing the gospel are a leading source of the confusion. Our presentations may not be heretical, but they are sometimes misleading. The idea of “asking Jesus into your heart” or “giving your life to Jesus” often gives false assurance to those who are not saved—and keeps those who genuinely are saved from fully embracing that reality. Greear unpacks the doctrine of assurance, showing that salvation is a posture we take to the promise of God in Christ, a posture that begins at a certain point and is maintained for the rest of our lives. He also answers the tough questions about assurance: What exactly is faith? What is repentance? Why are there so many warnings that seem to imply we can lose our salvation? Such issues are handled with respect to the theological rigors they require, but Greear never loses his pastoral sensitivity or a communication technique that makes this message teachable to a wide audience from teens to adults.

The Bible Teacher's Guide

Book Description

The letter of 1 Peter was written to persecuted Christians scattered throughout the Roman Empire. It was meant to both encourage and instruct them on how to live as pilgrims in a hostile society. This message is still relevant today. Christ declared that in the end times believers would be hated by all nations because of him (Matthew 24:9). With the continuing culture shift, animosity and persecution towards Christians is increasing at an alarming rate. Over four hundred Christians are martyred every day, and more saints have died for the faith in the last century than all the previous combined. The words of 1 Peter are a message of hope, desperately needed to encourage and prepare the Church for what lies ahead. Let's journey through Peter's letter together with the aid of The Bible Teacher's Guide. Expositional, theological, and candidly practical! I highly recommend the Bible Teacher's Guide for anyone seeking to better understand or teach God's Word. Dr. Young-Gil Kim, Founding President of Handong Global University This study could be used by pastors as an aid for sermon preparation, by small group leaders, or by any believer who wants to understand and apply God's Word personally. I can't imagine any student of Scripture not benefiting by this work. Steven J. Cole, Pastor, Flagstaff Christian Fellowship.

Peace with God

Book Description

Billy Graham shares God's gentle, reassuring promise of spiritual calm and authentic peace in a world falling apart at the seams. In a culture that values "quality of life" and personal happiness above all else, why are so many of us unhappy, anxious, lonely, on the brink of despair? Why do so many of us feel empty, even though we live surrounded by plenty? In Peace with God, Reverend Graham takes you on a great quest to find the answers to life's purpose. Along the way, he answers essential questions to understanding the true hope at the foundation of the Christian faith—questions like: What is God like? Why did Jesus come? What is repentance? How can I be sure of salvation? How should a Christian live? "God's peace can be in your heart—right now . . .Whatever the circumstances, whatever the call, whatever the duty, whatever the price, whatever the sacrifice—His strength will be your strength in your hour of need. It's all yours, and it's free." Peace with God is a timeless message of hope for all those struggling with despair and loneliness. Everlasting Love

Book Description

Everlasting Love is a book which depicts the relationship between two people""a man and a woman""whose paths divinely meet and culminate a more than thirty-year journey of learning about God's love through friendship, separation, adversity, marriage, and beyond. Love does not begin with a mere infatuation or affection that two people have for each other but, in essence, comes forth from the revelation of first knowing that we, as individuals, are loved by God. When we, in our hearts, comprehend how much God loves us, then we are more easily able to reciprocate that love back to Him (1 John 4:19). Secondly; as we learn how precious we are to Him, we then take a different look at ourselves, and upon doing so, we place a higher degree of value on the deposits and the spiritual gifts imparted to us by Him. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16). Do you see the word everlasting? Does this give you and me a clue that when it is over here, that it is really not over? This book is meant to help settle that question that many may have, especially them who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. We have to change the ways in which we think about life, love, and even death. For we should know that God is not the God of the dead, but of the living (Luke 20:38). Everlasting Love will help to transcend your thinking about prayer and God's plan for your destiny in this life, and what ramifications one life can have on turning even generations to Him. Make your impact in this world through revelation of His everlasting love.

But The Greatest of These is Love

Book Description

And the Greatest of These Is Love is an adventure into learning about the very heart of God, concerning not only man plurally but man and woman singularly/individually. God has an individually-drafted plan, which is specifically detailed for each one of us. Many of us tend to have our own plans for our lives already mapped out before we begin to pursue them. God has a plan set forth for each of us that always involves others because he has a heart for people. He so wants us to have his heart through the reestablishment and total restoration of intimacy in relationship to himself and man (plural). This book will give instances that will cause the reader to do an inspection of their own heart regarding motives, purpose, and pursuits. God is exposing the motives of our hearts in order to weed out that which chokes out his word, which is the truth. Facts are great to have in our daily lives because they may create a sometimes-safe structure but can also disengage the heart while connecting with our intellect. The truth is far greater than what is factual. This book focuses upon God's word, which is truth. Jesus says in John 17:17: "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth." Allow the words of this book to speak to your heart, not your head. This book will begin to take you to a fresh place of determination to see yourself as a son or daughter of God! This is our Father's intention being communicated through the pages of this book. It will give you another angle of spiritual insight into God's love which already abides in every true believer. Now, in you abides faith, hope, and love; but of these three, the greatest is love!
