The residual solar flux density during the maximum phase of the July 20, 1963 eclipse was found to be 52%=5% at 74 Mc./s. The quiet sun flux density was estimated to be 1.0 X 10 to the minus 22nd power =7% w./m squared/c.p.s. (Author).

The investigation of 3.2 mm solar emission during the 20 July 1963 solar eclipse is described. While the measurements were restricted by inclement weather, the observations by circularly scanning the limbs of the moon over a period of =10 minutes of the maximum occultation showed strong radiation from southeastern and southwestern limb prominences and no systematic limb brightening for the solar conditions at the time of the eclipse.
