Excerpt from Observations on the Epidemical Diseases of Minorca: From the Year 1744 to 1749; To Which Is Prefixed a Short Account of the Climate, Productions, Inhabitants, and Endemial Distempers of Minorca When I determined to write upon the fevers, which have, Of late years, been epidemical in MI norca I thought it would not be improper, in the first place, to give a short account of the nature of the climate; the qualities of the soil, and its produc tions; the manners of the inhabitants, their diet and way of life; and to mention some other diseases to which they are peculiarly subject. The following introduction is intended for this purpose; and the reader will easily discover by the style, that it was composed during my residence in that island.
