Educated at Kingston, Ontario. Part of the staff of the Boston Globe and was its correspondent in Cuba. Later became the reporter in Georgia for the New York Herald. After founding a newspaper in Atlanta, Georgia, and engaging in journalism in New York, he went to England and joined the London Daily Mail. Later on, he became a free-lance writer and a prolific author. Many of his books explored Canadian history and issues. He also served as a senior officer with the Canadian Expeditionary Force.
