Operations and Aggregation Methods of Single-Valued Linguistic Neutrosophic Interval Linguistic Numbers and Their Decision Making Method

Book Description

To comprehensively describe uncertain/interval linguistic arguments and confident linguistic arguments in the decision making process by a linguistic form, this study first presents the concept of a single-valued linguistic neutrosophic interval linguistic number (SVLN-ILN), which is comprehensively composed of its uncertain/interval linguistic number (determinate linguistic argument part) and its single-valued linguistic neutrosophic number (confident linguistic argument part), and its basic operations.

Decision Making Methods with Linguistic Neutrosophic Information: A Review

Book Description

Linguistic neutrosophic information and its extension have been long recognized as a useful tool in decision-making problems in many areas. This paper briefly describes the development process of linguistic neutrosophic information expressions, and gives in-depth studies on seven different concepts and tools. At the same time, a brief evaluation and summary of the decision-making methods of its various measures and aggregation operators are also made. A comparative analysis of different linguistic neutrosophic sets is made with examples to illustrate the effectiveness and practicability of decision making methods based on multiple aggregation operators and measures. Finally, according to the analysis of the current situation of linguistic neutrosophic information, the related trends of its future development are discussed.

Linguistic Neutrosophic Numbers Einstein Operator and Its Application in Decision Making

Book Description

Linguistic neutrosophic numbers (LNNs) include single-value neutrosophic numbers and linguistic variable numbers, which have been proposed by Fang and Ye. In this paper, we define the linguistic neutrosophic number Einstein sum, linguistic neutrosophic number Einstein product, and linguistic neutrosophic number Einstein exponentiation operations based on the Einstein operation. Then, we analyze some of the relationships between these operations. For LNN aggregation problems, we put forward two kinds of LNN aggregation operators, one is the LNN Einstein weighted average operator and the other is the LNN Einstein geometry (LNNEWG) operator. Then we present a method for solving decision-making problems based on LNNEWA and LNNEWG operators in the linguistic neutrosophic environment. Finally, we apply an example to verify the feasibility of these two methods.

Multiple-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) Techniques for Business Processes Information Management

Book Description

Information management is a common paradigm in modern decision-making. A wide range of decision-making techniques have been proposed in the literature to model complex business and engineering processes. In this Special Issue, 16 selected and peer-reviewed original research articles contribute to business information management in various current real-world problems by proposing crisp or uncertain multiple-criteria decision-making (MCDM) models and techniques, mostly including multi-attribute decision-making (MADM) approaches, in addition to a single paper proposing an interactive multi-objective decision-making (MODM) approach. Particular attention is devoted to information aggregation operators—65% of papers dealt with this item. The topics of this Special Issue gained attention in Europe and Asia. A total of 48 authors from seven countries contributed to this Issue. The papers are mainly concentrated in three application areas: supplier selection and rational order allocation, the evaluation and selection of goods or facilities, and personnel selection/partner selection. A number of new approaches are proposed that are expected to attract great interest from the research community.

Linguistic Approaches to Interval Complex Neutrosophic Sets in Decision Making

Book Description

One of the most efcient tools for modeling uncertainty in decision-making problems is the neutrosophic set (NS) and its extensions, such as complex NS (CNS), interval NS (INS), and interval complex NS (ICNS). Linguistic variables have been long recognized as a useful tool in decision-making problems for solving the problem of crisp neutrosophic membership degree. In this paper, we aim to introduce new concepts: single-valued linguistic complex neutrosophic set (SVLCNS-2) and interval linguistic complex neutrosophic set (ILCNS-2) that are more applicable and adjustable to real-world implementation than those of their previous counterparts. Some set-theoretic operations and the operational rules of SVLCNS-2 and ILCNS-2 are designed. Then, gather classications of the candidate versus criteria, gather the signicance weights, gather the weighted rankings of candidates versus criteria and a score function to arrange the candidates are determined. New TOPSIS decision-making procedures in SVLCNS-2 and ICNS-2 are presented and applied to lecturer selection in the case study of the University of Economics and Business, Vietnam National University. The applications demonstrate the usefulness and efciency of the proposal.

Multiple Attribute Decision-Making Method Using Linguistic Cubic Hesitant Variables

Book Description

Linguistic decision making (DM) is an important research topic in DM theory and methods since using linguistic terms for the assessment of the objective world is very fitting for human thinking and expressing habits. However, there is both uncertainty and hesitancy in linguistic arguments in human thinking and judgments of an evaluated object. Nonetheless, the hybrid information regarding both uncertain linguistic arguments and hesitant linguistic arguments cannot be expressed through the various existing linguistic concepts.

Linguistic neutrosophic Hamacher aggregation operators and the application in evaluating land reclamation schemes for mines

Book Description

Land reclamation has become a significant way for the improvement of ecological environment in mining areas. When selecting the optimal land reclamation scheme, LNNs (linguistic neutrosophic numbers) are suitable to describe the complex fuzzy evaluation information through linguistic truth, indeterminacy and falsity membership degrees.
