OSF/Motif Programmer's Reference

Book Description

The reference manual for OSF/Motif, this volume completely details toolkit, window manager, and user interface language commands and functions. By outlining all syntax and usage, it helps programmers write applications using Motif interfaces. All commands and functions are listed separately in alphabetical order. This is the authoritative source for the actual implementation and has been completely updated for Release 1.2.

OSF/Motif Programmer's Reference, Revision 1.0

Book Description

Describes the syntax and usage for all OSF/Motif commands and functions. This book contains reference pages, arranged in alphabetical order, for each command or function.

OSF/Motif Programmer's Guide

Book Description

Programmers creating applications with the various components of the Motif environment will benefit from this manual's coverage of widgets, gadgets, and conventions. The three sections of the book cover the toolkit, the window manager, and the user interface language (UIL).

OSF Motif Programming Guide 2.0

Book Description

This guide is a resource on widgets, gadgets and conventions. It covers in detail the Motif toolkit, the window manager, and the user interface language (UIL).

Programming with MotifTM

Book Description

About this Book This book is a detailed introduction to programming with the OSF /MotifI'M graphical user interface. It is an introduction in that it does not require the reader to have experience programming in the X Window environment. It is detailed in that it teaches you how to use the interface components provided by Motif in a complex application. Although it contains a great deal of reference material, it is not meant as an authoritative reference - that is the job of the OSF/Motif Programmer's Reference, which uses over 900 pages in the process. Instead, this book provides its reference material in a practical, "how to" manner and allows the reader to use the Programmer's Reference effectively. The target reader is an experienced C programmer and user of the X Window System under the UNIX operating system. 'the reader should be familiar with the tools provided by UNIX for the compilation and testing of programs; while this book does examine the process by which a Motif program is compiled, it does not explain that process. It also assumes that the reader is familiar with "x" terms such as 'pointer' and 'display'.

Object Oriented Programming with C++ and OSF/Motif

Book Description

Updated to cover Motif Release 2.0 and X/11 R6, this revised edition shows programmers how to design reusable user interface components and how Motif and C++ can be used together effectively. It goes beyond how to display and manipulate widgets and shows how the object-oriented approach affects an application's design and implementation. In addition to providing X and Motif programmers with a concise introduction to user interface design methods, the book includes code examples that form a useful toolkit.

Distributed Platforms

Book Description

Client/Server applications are of increasing importance in industry, and have been improved by advanced distributed object-oriented techniques, dedicated tool support and both multimedia and mobile computing extensions. Recent responses to this trend are standardized distributed platforms and models including the Distributed Computing Environment (DCE) of the Open Software Foundation (OS F), Open Distributed Processing (ODP), and the Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA) of the Object Management Group (OMG). These proceedings are the compilation of papers from the technical stream of the IFIPIIEEE International Conference on Distributed Platforms, Dresden, Germany. This conference has been sponsored by IFIP TC6.1, by the IEEE Communications Society, and by the German Association of Computer Science (GI -Gesellschaft fur Informatik). ICDP'96 was organized jointly by Dresden University of Technology and Aachen University of Technology. It is closely related to the International Workshop on OSF DCE in Karlsruhe, 1993, and to the IFIP International Conference on Open Distributed Processing. ICDP has been designed to bring together researchers and practitioners who are studying and developing new methodologies, tools and technologies for advanced client/server environ ments, distributed systems, and network applications based on distributed platforms.
