"Pursuant to the new rules on committee jurisdiction, adopted last year by the House of Representatives, the Committee on Education and Labor is now charged with legislative responsibility for all Federal laws affecting Indian education. The committee is familiar with Indian education laws administered by the U.S. Office of Education, but we are not very familiar with those laws administered bv the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
