This book includes the texts of the survey lectures given by plenary speakers at the 11th International ISAAC Congress held in Växjö, Sweden, on 14-18 August, 2017. It is the purpose of ISAAC to promote analysis, its applications, and its interaction with computation. Analysis is understood here in the broad sense of the word, including differential equations, integral equations, functional analysis, and function theory. With this objective, ISAAC organizes international Congresses for the presentation and discussion of research on analysis. The plenary lectures in the present volume, authored by eminent specialists, are devoted to some exciting recent developments, topics including: local solvability for subprincipal type operators; fractional-order Laplacians; degenerate complex vector fields in the plane; lower bounds for pseudo-differential operators; a survey on Morrey spaces; localization operators in Signal Theory and Quantum Mechanics. Book Description

The International Symposium on Superconductivity, which has been held annu ally since 1988, is a forum for presenting the most up-to-date information about a broad range of research and development in superconductivity, from funda mental aspects to applications. More than 10 years have passed since the discovery of oxide superconductors and since various developments of applications began. It may be said that the prospects for application of oxide superconductors recently have opened up. Great progress has been made toward practical use, for example, of the flywheel, which uses bulk materials, and the high-performance cryo-cooled magnet made of bismuth wire. These were the results of persistent efforts to develop materials from the viewpoint of materials science and engineering. Also important is the progress in comprehensive understanding of high temperature superconductivity. Unique electronic properties of cuprates such as the non-Fermi liquid normal state, spin-charge separation, spin gap, and d-wave symmetry were discussed at the symposium, as were the unique electromagnetic properties resulting from the low dimensionality of cuprates. In the field of new superconductors, many exotic materials have been discovered since 1986. A decade of work with cuprate superconductors is reviewed in this proceedings, and several of the newest materials are presented. These papers will be instructive for many researchers and for students who are to enter this field.

The Relativists and Cosmologists in India organized an international conference in Goa, India, in 1987, known as the International Conference on Gravitation and Cosmology (ICGC-87). Encouraged by the success of this conference it was decided to have such a meeting periodically, once in every four years. Accordingly, ICGC- 91 was held at the Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), Ahmedabad, India. The third International Conference on Gravitation and Cosmology, (ICGC-95) was held at the Inter-University centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics, IUCAA, Pune, India during December 13 - 19, 1995. This series of conferences is co-sponsored by the Indian Association for General Relativity and Gravitation (lAGRG). The Conference had 16 plenary lectures and five workshops altogether. There were three plenary lectures per day and two workshops running parallel each day. We were fortunate in getting plenary speakers who are leading experts in their respective fields drawn from all over the world. The conference was attended by about 105 persons from India and 55 from abroad. We thank all the contributors who have taken time to write up their lectures amidst their busy schedule. We regret we could not get the contributions of a few plenary speakers. We would also like to thank the members of Organizing Committees who have worked hard to make this conference a success.
