POLYPAGOS, Polychromic Program for the Analysis of General Optical Systems, uses both geometric and frequency response techniques. Four main tools for measuring optical system performance are provided in the program: (1) calculation of first order parameters and Seidel aberration coefficients, (2) the full field ray trace, (3) the spot diagram, and (4) the two-dimensional polychromatic Optical Transfer Function. Both the full field ray trace and the spot diagram examine geometrical aberrations, while the Optical Transfer Function measures the frequency response of a system subject to geometrical errors and diffraction effects. The program produces plots of the spot diagram, two-dimensional Point Spread Function, and two-dimensional Modulation Transfer Function. (Author).
