His Mom's busy making a special cake and lots of goodies for a surprise birthday party. She's also busy baking apple pies to send to the new neighbor and welcome them into the neighborhood. Fortunately, two of her friends drop by and pitch in to help. Peter decides to go out to play. When he returns, covered in mud from playing in the pond, his mother tells him to hurry and clean up for his birthday celebrations. Peter doesn't know he's in for a surprise party, but he does know there will be some sort of a celebration complete with gifts and cake.
