In the 1930s and '40s an untamed group of Hollywood notables, men most well-known for their talents on the silver screen, frequently met and behaved in a manner that no doubt made them infamous within their community. The group included John Barrymore, Errol Flynn, W. C. Fields, Anthony Quinn, Vincent Price, and the eccentric artist John Decker. Hollywood's Original Rat Pack revisits the lives and times of this free-spirited gang and rekindles the spirit of their excesses. In this lighthearted history, Jordan introduces the members of the Bundy Drive Boys, focuses on the unique personality traits each offered, and brings their lusty stories of carousing and debauchery to life in a manner that pays tribute to their carefree, if admittedly reckless, antics.

In celebration of the Rat Pack's Sixtieth anniversary this book details the meteoric rise of this infamous group. For the first time, this outrageous, explosive tell-all book brings the inside scoop of how The Mob, The Future President and five of the greatest entertainers took the world by storm.

From dealing blackjack in the small-time gangster town of Steubenville, Ohio, to carousing with the famous "Rat Pack" in a Hollywood he called home, Dean Martin lived in a grandstand, guttering life of booze, broads, and big money. He rubbed shoulders with the mob, the Kennedys, and Hollywood's biggest stars. He was one of America's favorite entertainers. But no one really knew him. Now Nick Tosches reveals the man behind the image--the dark side of the American dream. It's a wild, illuminating, sometimes shocking tale of sex, ambition, heartaches--and a life lived hard, fast, and without apologies.

One of the Best Books of the Year The Washington Post • Los Angeles Times • Milwaukee Journal Sentinel The story of Frank Sinatra’s second act, Sinatra finds the Chairman on top of the world, riding high after an Oscar victory—and firmly reestablished as the top recording artist of his day. Following Sinatra from the mid-1950s to his death in 1998, Kaplan uncovers the man behind the myth, revealing by turns the peerless singer, the (sometimes) powerful actor, the business mogul, the tireless lover, and—of course—the close associate of the powerful and infamous. It was in these decades that the enduring legacy of Frank Sinatra was forged, and Kaplan vividly captures “Ol’ Blue Eyes” in his later years. The sequel to the New York Times best-selling Frank, here is the concluding volume of the definitive biography of "The Entertainer of the Century."

RatPack Airlines was an Air Force gunship during the Vietnam War. Its crew was made up of a group of men that bonded together to became a very proficient team. Their motto became "When it hurts enough to where you want the very best, call the RatPack." Jack Roberts, a member of that crew and call sign MadRat, uses his outdoor skills learned from having lived on a cattle ranch in northwestern Nebraska to help his RatPack Airlines crewmates through survival school, getting accustomed to coping with the hardships of the primitive living conditions and coping with the everyday violent missions they would experience in Vietnam. Jack and his crewmates fly a variety of missions in South Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and North Vietnam. These vary from defensive support missions for Agent Orange spray aircraft, to assisting in retrieving downed aircrews, to offensive missions taking out enemy targets, supply cashes, and command centers. On one mission they are shot down and crash-landed in a rice paddy in the Mekong Delta. The survivors must fight off the attacking enemy until Army Special Forces and Navy rescue can offer assistance. The RatPack's final mission is to destroy an enemy command center at An Son, North Vietnam. After completing the mission, Jack, his dog, and three crewmates must bail out of their damaged aircraft and evade the enemy while walking back 265 miles to South Vietnam. There are many hardships encountered during the five-week journey. Finding food and water was always a priority. Not all the RatPackers made it back.
