Natural Resources Management Plan

Book Description

Excerpt from Natural Resources Management Plan: Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, Hawaii Impacts. Overall impacts of the plan will be to allow native Hawaiian organisms and ecosystems to operate under much less influence and destruction from species introduced by modern man. Goat and pig populations will progressively decrease. A woven-wire fence will enclose much of the park. Nene (hawaiian goose) should become more common. Certain competitive exotic plants will become less abundant. Many native plant species will increase in density. Ecological studies of natural succession may be more complicated as a result of plant reintroductions and exotic plant control. Response to wildfires will be more deliberate and consistent with park objectives. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
