Day by day account of the hardships of the American reinforcements under General Thomas who had come north to help secure the American possession of Montreal and continue the attacks on Quebec. The party reached Three Rivers, being greatly diminished by small pox, before the threat of the British ships on the St. Lawrence caused a hasty retreat.
