William Plomer

Book Description

Dealing frankly with all areas of his private and professional life, and the central role his homosexuality played in them, this book paints a fascinating portrait of William Plomer (1903-73), author of Turbott Wolfe, from his beginnings in South Africa to his rise to literary and publishing prominence in England in the 1930s and 1940s.

Rugby School Register, Vol. 2

Book Description

Excerpt from Rugby School Register, Vol. 2: From August, 1842, to January, 1874 The revision of that part of the Register comprised in this volume, and particularly the period 1850-1874, has naturally been a far easier task than was the case in the earlier part. The entries in the Album were accurately transcribed for the edition of 1886, and the corrections now made have been for the most part supplied by the bearers of the names themselves. The Album has, however, been carefully studied and the contemporary School Lists examined. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
