Those who knew him well cherish pleasant memories of their inter course with him; but many incidents, now common knowledge among Cousins enthusiasts and connoisseurs, would in the ordinary course of things fade away and be forgotten within the space of a comparatively few years. To prevent anything so unfortunate, the present writer has taken up the task of fixing the memories in the black and white of the printed page, and of cataloguing and describing the whole of his engraved works in all their variety of state.
