Seasonal Variation in Farm Food Prices and Price Spreads (Classic Reprint)

Book Description

Excerpt from Seasonal Variation in Farm Food Prices and Price Spreads Percentage changes in the seasonal index of farm prices usually exceeded per centage changes in seasonal indexes of either retail prices or farm-retail spreads; that is, retail prices and marketing charges usually were more stable seasonally than farm values. Seasonal patterns of all three series, however, usually were related. Seasonally high farm values usually were accompanied by seasonally high retail prices.
