Selected Papers from the 1st International Online Conference on Nanomaterials

Book Description

This book compiles selected papers from the Proceedings of the 1st International Online Conference on Nanomaterials, held 1–15 September, 2018 on sciforum.net, an online platform for hosting scholarly e-conferences and discussion groups. It targets a broad readership of physicists, chemists, materials scientists, biologists, environmentalists, and nanotechnologists, and provides interesting examples of the most recent advances in the synthesis, characterization, and applications of nanomaterials.

Selected Papers from 2017 International Conference on Micro/Nanomachines

Book Description

This book is a printed edition of the Special Issue "Selected Papers from 2017 International Conference on Micro/Nanomachines" that was published in Micromachines

The 3rd International Conference on Nanomaterials and Advanced Composites

Book Description

This book presents selected articles from the 3rd International Conference on Nanomaterials and Advanced Composites (NAC 2022) held at Tokushima University in Japan. This event brought together leading researchers and professionals from academia and industry to present their latest findings and served as a platform for the exchange of ideas aiming for further collaborations. Participants from over six countries shared their most up-to-date knowledge in their respective fields covering nanotechnology, nanomaterials, and advanced composites. Even though this conference had both on-site and remotely connected attendees, the main purpose to promote the networking among academics, engineers, and students was fully achieved. This book is part of the effort to disseminate the knowledge gathered during this meeting. The collection of articles covers topics on advanced composites, nanomaterials, ecological materials, energy, microfluidics, crystal growth, and photocatalysis. This representative account of the conference is intended to provide new and useful insights for prospective studies in materials science and engineering.

Selected Papers from the 12th International Networking Conference

Book Description

The proceedings includes a selection of papers covering a range of subjects focusing on topical areas of computer networks and security with a specific emphasis of novel environments, ranging from 5G and virtualised infrastructures to Internet of things, smart environments and cyber security issues. Networking represents the underlying core of current IT systems, providing the necessary communication support for complex infrastructures. Recent years have witnessed a number of novel concepts moving from theory to large scale implementations, such as Software Defined Networking, Network Function Virtualisation, 5G, smart environments, and IoT. These concepts change fundamentally the paradigms used in traditional networking, with a number of areas such as network routing and system or business security having to adjust or redesign to accommodate them. While the benefits are clear, through the advent of new applications, use cases, improved user interaction and experience, they also introduce new challenges for generic network architectures, mobility, security, traffic engineering.

Soft Nanomaterials

Book Description

Soft materials with nanometer scale aspects have been heavily used in biomedical science. Instead of providing a broad introduction of soft materials and their biomedical applications, this book focuses on the preparation of molecular assemblies of biotechnologically relevant biomimetic systems with an emphasis on medical applications.

Second International Conference from Nanoparticles and Nanomaterials to Nanodevices and Nanosystems (IC4N)

Book Description

The papers included in this issue of ECS Transactions were originally presented at the 2nd International Conference from Nanoparticles and Nanomaterials to Nanodevices and Nanosystems (IC4N) Meeting, held in Rhodes, Greece, June 28 - July 3, 2009.

Formation of Advanced Nanomaterials by Gas-Phase Aggregation

Book Description

The book represents a collection of papers from Special Issue "Formation of Advanced Nanomaterials by Gas-Phase Aggregation" published in journal Applied Nano. It contains review and original articles covering a range of topics on the growth of clusters/nanoparticles using gas-phase aggregation approaches, the application of cluster beams for the formation of nanomaterials with advanced properties and specific nanostructures as well as providing new fundamental insights on nanoscale properties of materials.

Polymeric Nanomaterials

Book Description

The book series Nanomaterials for the Life Sciences, provides an in-depth overview of all nanomaterial types and their uses in the life sciences. Each volume is dedicated to a specific material class and covers fundamentals, synthesis and characterization strategies, structure-property relationships and biomedical applications. The series brings nanomaterials to the Life Scientists and life science to the Materials Scientists so that synergies are seen and developed to the fullest. Written by international experts of various facets of this exciting field of research, the series is aimed at scientists of the following disciplines: biology, chemistry, materials science, physics, bioengineering, and medicine, together with cell biology, biomedical engineering, pharmaceutical chemistry, and toxicology, both in academia and fundamental research as well as in pharmaceutical companies. VOLUME 10 - Polymeric Nanomaterials

Recent Advances and Future Trends in Pavement Engineering

Book Description

This Special Issue "Recent Advances and Future Trends in Pavement Engineering" was proposed and organized to present recent developments in the field of innovative pavement materials and engineering. The 12 articles and state-of-the-art reviews highlighted in this editorial are related to different aspects of pavement engineering, from recycled asphalt pavements to alkali-activated materials, from hot mix asphalt concrete to porous asphalt concrete, from interface bonding to modal analysis, and from destructive testing to non-destructive pavement monitoring by using fiber optics sensors. This Special Issue partly provides an overview of current innovative pavement engineering ideas that have the potential to be implemented in industry in the future, covering some recent developments.
