He does not pretend, however, to satisfy the requisitions of science by his manner of treating the subject: though teachers of a higher grade may possibly find in his work a foundation capable of such a superstructure. He has no further ambition of his own, than to instruct and entertain those, who may be prepared for the course by an ordinary degree of acquaintance with the principles of natural philosophy, and the terms of his art.
