Ruminations is a collection of poems that were all written in 2021. Covid-19 was ravaging the world and most of us were stuck at home. The first poem, “Sweetheart”, was written on my wedding anniversary. Typically, I go to our backyard to make a rose bouquet for my wife. This year, there were no roses in the garden. Fearing how my wife would react prompted me to write this poem. I shared the poem with my siblings who were all taken aback that I could write poetry. They encouraged me to write more. And my journey in verse began. I cannot say I am a poet but I did discover that I was able to take everyday life situations and put them in verse. Hence the title “Ruminations, Flashes of Thoughts, Sentiments and Emotions”. I then shared with other family members and friends and the reaction was encouraging. I also started blogging. I now have written just under 300 poems in 2021. Not sure if this will be a lifelong passion or not. Time will tell. But I hope you enjoy reading these as much as I have enjoyed writing them.

A woman on the run uncovers a series of deadly secrets in this gripping, twisty standalone psychological thriller from award-winning master storyteller Catriona McPherson. Lowland Glen is the oldest bookshop in a quiet Scottish town full of bookshops; rambling and disordered, full of hidden treasures. Londoner Jude fell in love with it when she visited last summer, the high point of a miserable holiday. Now, in the depths of winter, it seems a strange place to run away to - but Jude's tired and heartsick, and when the bookstore's charming but eccentric owner, Lowell, welcomes her with open arms, she knows she's made the right decision. Lowell needs an assistant, and the job comes with accommodation too. The isolated gravedigger's cottage isn't perfect for a woman alone, but it's a good place to hide from her troubles - and at least she has quiet neighbors. Quiet, but not silent. The long dead and the books they left behind have tales to tell, and the dusty bookshop is not the haven it seems. Lowell's past and Jude's present are a dangerous cocktail of secrets and lies - and someone is coming to light the taper that could burn everything down around them . . .

A fresh look at the meaning of Jesus' parables for Christian living today. The parables recorded in the Gospels are central for an understanding of Jesus and his ministry. Yet the parables are more than simple stories; they present a number of obstacles to contemporary readers hoping to fully grasp their meaning. In this volume, thirteen New Testament scholars provide the background necessary to understand the original context and meaning of Jesus' parables as well as their modern applications, all in a manner easily accessible to general readers.
