The plan is a long-range, action document that deals with all management and research proposed for the natural resources of Yosemite. Since its major emphasis is natural resources management, it does not include backcountry visitor - use management, which is covered by the approved Yosemite Backcountry Management Plan. It does, however, cover research related to backcountry visitor use. While this summary covers only the Natural Resources Management Plan, the full document also includes an environmental assessment of proposed actions. An addendum to this plan is entitled Management Program, and deals with the specifics of each management project or study.
