Her quest for revenge leads to an even greater adventure when she witnesses Queen Guinevere being kidnapped. In their travels they meet, among others, a mystery knight traveling incognito in a dung cart, a faery who becomes Sarah’s first friend in a long time, a reclusive monk who plans to spend the rest of his life building a tomb for Sir Lancelot, and a princess who might have a little more gumption than she appears to. As the plot thickens, Sarah finds out more about the people she’s met and befriended, as well as about herself. She begins to learn the true consequences of vengeance and what it really means to be a princess. “Morris reshapes traditional plot elements, infuses them with humor and fantasy, and creates a highly readable story . . . The novel is driven by a keen sense of justice and lightened by droll wit. T'was the Night Before Fifth Grade

Book Description

This book is about a fifth grade boy who is new to school and is nervous about starting fifth grade. His name is John and he is feeling anxious and frightened at his new school, until one students makes John feel accepted by her kindness and generosity. Sometimes all we need is a friend to help guide us in the right direction. I came up with the idea for this book when I was reading Christmas stories to my kids one night before they went to bed. I thought to myself, I am a fifth grade teacher and I could write a book to help kids feel more accepted and safe in a new situation. To keep this book more personal to me, I asked my friend and the art teacher at my school, Abe Lee to illustrate the book. It was fun and entertaining to work with Abe on this book.

Igraine the Brave

Book Description

The New York Times–bestselling author of Inkheart and Dragon Rider delivers an “inventive re-imagining of the knight-in-shining-armor story” (Publishers Weekly, starred review). Igraine dreams of becoming a famous knight just like her great grandfather, but the truth is, life at the family castle is rather boring. Until the nephew of the baroness-next-door shows up. He’s got a dastardly plan to capture the castle and claim as his own the wonderful singing spell books that belong to Igraine’s magician parents. To make matters worse, at the very moment of the siege, her mom and dad botch a spell, turning themselves into pigs! Aided by a Gentle Giant and a Sorrowful Knight, it’s up to Igraine to be brave and save the day—and the books! “Illustrated with pen-and-ink sketches of Igraine in action, plus many tiny tomes sporting stubby limbs and animated faces, this engaging read, or read-aloud, is ‘joust’ the ticket for all young fans of non-gender-specific knightly valor.” —Kirkus Reviews
