Every section has a special section entitled Breadth of Vision that offers deeper insights into religious teachings. This book places a greater emphasis on contemporary version of Hinduism, in contrast to what have now become antiquated versions. The X-Manual


Book Description

The title of the book, The X-Manual, is taken from the word exousia, from the subtitle. It is the Greek word for authority. The word is used throughout the New Testament. For our purposes, it is used to express the divine authority or right to cast out demons--"I have given you authority [exousia] to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you" (Luke 10:19 NIV). Jesus gives believers authority to cast out demons. This book is about spiritual authority over evil. The X-Manual is a practical "how to" handbook for clergy and laity on deliverance and exorcism. One reason I wrote the book is because so few understand and/or operate effectively in deliverance ministry. Nowhere is the church more inadequate or excessive than in deliverance ministry. The X-Manual contains specific time-tested biblical instructions on selecting and training a deliverance team, pre-deliverance work, the deliverance session, post-deliverance work, and other useful tools like the C1-13 instrument that helps determine if one needs deliverance. Deliverance is essential to the church's New Testament healing and evangelism ministry. It is time for the church to walk in the authority and power that Christ gave us to set the captives free!




Reclaiming Pluralism in Economics

Until the end of the early 1970s, from a history of economic thought perspective, the mainstream in economics was pluralist, but once neoclassical economics became totally dominant it claimed the mainstream as its own. Since then, alternative views and schools of economics increasingly became minorities in the discipline and were considered ‘heterodox’. This book is in honour of John Edward King who has an impressive publication record in the area of economic theory with specific interest in how economic thought in the past shapes current economic theory and enforces certain paths of economic policy and economic development. This book is divided into five themes based on King’s interests. The first theme looks at the challenge in trying to reclaim pluralism in economics. The second faces head-on the direct collision of mainstream economics with history of economic thought and heterodox economics. The third addresses classical economic ideas, their central influence in the past and how they can still primarily guide modern pluralist economics. The fourth examines Post Keynesian and Kaleckian economics with a view to providing a more coherent and extensive branch of heterodox economics. The final theme critiques the policy of neoliberalism that has entrenched itself in capitalist economies which have led to financial, industrial, labour, and behavioural/consumerist crises. This text aims to provide a clear path for pluralism to serve the economics discipline as its standard bearer, and to no longer be merely a heterodox challenge to the mainstream. Teacher's Guide for Pathways to Pluralism

Any program used to teach about religion in the social studies must meet certain criteria. The materials must be socially significant and suitable to the classroom. The teaching strategy must promote genuine learning, taking every safeguard to prevent indoctrination. Only then is the public school teacher warranted, legally and morally, to undertake an in-depth examination of religious traditions. Each of the 10 studies presented in the text "Pathways to Pluralism" has an integrity of its own. While it is not necessary that these studies be used in a fixed sequence, it is important that any study chosen be used in its entirety in order to promote objectivity. Free inquiry and induction are characteristic of the materials. Students are asked to analyze source materials related to religion and the social studies, and on the basis of the information provided, are asked to develop their own positions. Then an open, informed class discussion permits students to present their own points of view, and respectfully consider positions different from the ones they have reached. This teacher's guide includes for each study: (1) a statement of the primary goals; (2) information to be considered in responding to the study questions in the text; (3) oral and written activities that may be presented at the conclusion of the study; (4) questions for further research; and (5) a vocabulary list.
