Excerpt: ...by delivering to the person to be served a copy of the document to be served, and, if that document is not the original document, at the same time showing him the original if he so requires, or by delivering to him an office copy of the document to be served. 2. In any case in which personal service of any document is required by these Rules or otherwise, if it is made to appear to the Court or a Justice that prompt personal service cannot be effected, the Court or Justice may make such order for substituted or other service, or for the substitution of notice for service, by letter, public advertisement, or otherwise, as is just. Service so effected in accordance with any such order shall have the same operation as personal service. 3. When it is intended to enforce obedience to a judgment or order by process of attachment, the judgment or order must be served personally upon the person against whom the process is to be sought. Except as aforesaid, personal service of a judgment or order shall not be necessary, nor need the original be shown unless required by the party served. 4. Any document of which personal service is not prescribed by an Act or by these Rules, shall be sufficiently served if left within the prescribed hours, if any, at the address for service of the person to be served as defined by these Rules with any person resident at or belonging to that place. 5. Notices sent from any office of the Court may be sent by post; and the time at which the notice so posted would be delivered in the ordinary course of post shall be considered as the time of service thereof, and the posting thereof shall be a sufficient service. 6.
