From the author’s experience, this acquired nemesis can be the cause of much misery in life for those afflicted. Often linked, to a not life-supportive unhappy home & immature parental environment in infancy & childhood. To then unconsciously, cause crippling happiness & joy in later adulthood…also called delinquency. A adult fate, created through suppressed traumatic psychological & emotional experience acquired during infancy & childhood. A so vulnerable time for a child’s growing personality, character & delicate mind, more so in a love & affection deprived environment. Childhood, where there is no developed intellect to reason with and maturely, separate fact from fiction & fantasy from reality. The book also explains, that this Nature structured maturing of the intellect & emotions in adolescence, is greatly retarded when afflicted with a dysfunctional childhood. The symptoms of which, cause much internal misery for the individual. That has on-going detrimental repercussions for the individual, relationships, marriages & society in adulthood.

Contemporary missions often include evangelistic and socio-economic dimensions. For effective missions, some way of assessing what is being achieved is needed beyond just the common metrics touching on the spiritual and/or economic which neglects social transformation that ideally should also be occurring. This book seeks to identify key factors for holistic evaluation based on salient characteristics that emerged as three Entrepreneurial Church Planting sites were studied in San Francisco (Redeemer Community Church), Selma, Alabama (Blue Jean Church), and Lynch, Kentucky (Meridzo Ministries). What emerges from these case studies is the importance of relationality, general emphasis on growth and development, and a well-established focus on holistic transformation. The mechanisms for the operation of holistic transformation are spelled out to reflect the operation of the three actors of the Trinity in missions. The practical component of the book is the conceptual framework that reveals the operation of holistic transformation and ways to measure the dynamic relationships that occur.

After her trek with the pioneers to Winter Quarters she became one of only four women who traveled all the way to San Diego with the Mormon Battalion.
