The beautiful and the dark side of a love story

Book Description

The book is trying to define the beautiful and the dark side from a man and a woman, that are in love of each other, but not as theory ... but as a result of analyzing facts that are happening on the timeline of the love story. It’s a book about a fairy tale, with 2 lovely characters that are not understanding, but also are not accepting that the meaning of an abstract love ... or an imposible story is to enjoy only the beauty of what is going on. The 2 people from the essays get lost so many times, that not even the people around them can’t see if the story itself is real or not. But it’s all a journey of accepting the beautiful and the dark side from the person that you love so much. After the first period when you are blinded by love, it comes the second episode when you see that you are not in love with a god, but with a human being ... and just as you have millions of imperfections ... the same has also that magic person that you fall in love with. It’s a book that defines the fact that we should accept the things just as they are ... and love with an opened heart ... no matter what is going on. The nice part is that the book is not a collection of imaginary stories ... but essays that talks about a real story between 2 adults that wants to redefine and also restart their lives ... but in the end just enjoy the fact that they met ... losing any expectation at all as the story to become a real one. Today you are happy, tomorrow you are not .. and the essays describes this in a very honest, but also beautiful way ... all those amazing moments spent togheter.

Screening the Dark Side of Love

Book Description

How can love be understood globally as a problematic transgression rather than the narrative of "happy endings" that Hollywood has offered? The contributors utilize varying methodologies of textual analysis, psychoanalytic models, and cultural critique and engage with a broad range of films to explore issues of gender identity and spectatorship.

PHILOSOPHY OF NOTHING

Book Description

The book “PHILOSOPHY OF NOTHING” is a collection of essays that are trying to send the message that in a relationship you can be happy even if you don't have a real relationship togheter, in a clasical way, but also be unhappy when you have everything togheter. Having everything, but actually having nothing … having nothing, but actually having everything is an idea that we should meditate on it. We live in a world of unhappy marriages, that should be totally redefined, but actually are dying little by little, day by day ... with no change from any of the 2 partners. Wainting for NOTHING for years, doing NOTHING … but expecting everything from the other side. Love is not math and will never be. Love is not a business and will be never be. Philosophy of NOTHING is trying to define the beautiful side, but also the dark side of the love stories. The book does not have any architecture and is just a collection of essays. And maybe the only message of the book is quite simple: to be happpy you probably need NOTHING, but enjoy the present moment with the person you are in the story. Daring to do it … you don't need anything, cause you actually have everything, the love story itself.

ABSTRACT LOVE

Book Description

There are lots of books published every year, with all kinds of theories, but not so many expressing the concept of abstract love. I would define this a reflection of our thoughts into the real life. We call it abstract, cause have nothing to do with the normal dogmatic way of seeing the love stories. Real love, that perfect scenario with the perfect partner, can be seen at any age, depending of the luck our karma allows us to have. But we want it so much, that the Universe allows us this meeting, with only one obstacle which in many cases makes the love story imposible. Thinking in a positive way, we redefine the imposible story as an abstract one. Being a reflection of our dreams, the story itself is a perfect one, except the fact that you cannot enjoy the story into the real word, creating the image of an illusion. Imposible love stories are present all over the world. After posting a long time in social media, i received messages from people from all the continents telling me about them. The word “love” being present near the word “imposible”, creates this strange, illusory and abstract way of seeing the magic of love. The book is a collection of essays, my thoughts about the interconnection between the illusion and reality. I used a lot the term illusion, cause we all look for perfect scenarios, especially when it comes to love, but the truth is that perfection is far, far away of reality. We can interconnect illusions with the real world ... just through imposible love stories. In the end, the book is a personal development writing, that allows us to understand the magic of love but also a method that teaches how to enjoy life even if we dislike the word “imposible”.

Dark Side of Love

Book Description

A dead man hangs from the portal of St Paul Chapel in Damascus. He was a Muslim officer and he was murdered. But when Detective Barudi sets out to interrogate the man’s mysterious widow, the Secret Service takes the case away from him. Barudi continues to investigate clandestinely and discovers the murderer’s motive: it is a blood feud between the Mushtak and Shahin clans, reaching back to the beginnings of the 20th century. And, linked to it, a love story that can have no happy ending, for reconciliation has no place within the old tribal structures. Rafik Schami dazzling novel spans a century of Syrian history in which politics and religions continue to torment an entire people. Simultaneously, his poetic stories from three generations tell of the courage of lovers who risk death sooner than deny their passions. He has also written a heartfelt tribute to his hometown Damascus and a great and moving hymn to the power of love.

Looking for Light from the Dark Side of the Moon

Book Description

It is the hope of both authors that everyone who reads this book may relate personally, in some way, to some of the poems contained in this book, and know that they are not alone in their feelings. Whether good feelings, or bad, the intent of this book of poetry is to let others know that their feelings are genuine, real, and they are not alone in the way they perceive any given situation. That there are others who share the same feelings that they do; and for better or worse, no one has to endure or suffer alone, nor keep quiet their feelings of success and victory. We all share common threads of emotions and are all lifted up by hearing of someone elses experiences; both successes and failures. Each of us has something to share, something we can relate to, and something of ourselves that we can pass along to others to make the road they are traveling on a little smoother than the person who went before them. We all indeed have something to share with each other. We all indeed have knowledge that someone can benefit from hearing about. It is to that end that we have composed this book of poetry and stand-alone thoughts; that someones day may be a little bit brighter, just knowing that they are not alone in the way they are thinking or feeling.

PRACTICING … THE NONSENSE … AS AN ART

Book Description

What is the non sense? What is behind it? What is hided in the things that makes no sense at all?! Why we have them in our lives?! Who’s responsible of generating that?! Are we attracting the non sense ... or we are the ones behind the creation of it?! Should we accept it ... or simple smile in front of it ... and actually understand that the non sense itself is the expression of the fact that we are on a journey on a pathless path?! Lots of question ... and maybe no real answer. Or maybe lots of answers ... but none of them is satisfying us. I was reading tons of books ... with the hope that one day ... i will find the right algorithm so that i can totally remove the non sense from my life. Until one day ... when a lady friend of mine ... that i consider an expert into dealing and understanding the energies of life ... told me ... “Why do you think the nonsense is keep appearing yourself .... but is not present at all in my life?! Why those situations are appearing on and on and on?! I am sure ... you can accept ... at least for a while ... that the problem itself is not life and circumstances ... but you.” As always ... she was tough with me, but each time i was speaking with her ... i was clarifying for myself lots of things. But the ... nonsense ... was still there. It was indeed a part of my life ... and i had to learn how to deal with it. Somehow ... i was in the position of being forced to learn to practice the non sense as an ... art. It’s quite a ridiculous concept .... but there was nothing else to do ... cause it appeared on and on and on. Each day i was waking up ... i’ve been asking myself .... what the hell is going to happen today?! What else ... could it be?! I felt trapped in a prison with invisible walls ... and i could not find any way out of this story ... so all it was left to do was to see the message behind all what was going on. And until then ... i had to redefine my perceptions about any circumstances. Somehow the Universe was forcing me to become an artist .... in dealing and practicing daily nonsense ... but i was still hoping that one day the awakening moment will appear ... and the illusion of life will be revealed for me ...

The dark side ... of the human being

Book Description

And one day ... we just laugh of our fears: I met Dana maybe 15 years ago. We've worked together on a project. But ... the project delayed so, so much ... that we ended up becoming friends. Easy... easy ... we've started to talk about lots of things ... especially our lives. ... even details ... which had to do with intimacy. We lost contact ... by already few years ... but something still reminds me of her. She was the first woman .... which telling me her life ... made me understand the woman. You see ... firstly she was married with a guy in Norway. ... a wealthy guy. Unfortunately ... he was treating her very bad in there. She was cheated. Manipulated. Offended. And ... actually husband saw her more as a slave than a wife. One night she left from that beautiful mansion which meant for her ... only a hell ... with a plastic bag with few things in it. Abandoned the husband. ... but also her child. Most certainly ... the experience itself was horrible ... that Dana could abandon her daughter in there. And ... to be honest... hearing this story ... even if we were friends at that time ... I've started to judge her. I was thinking ... "what type of person is Dana ... if she could abandon her child?! Why she left alone?! Why she didn't took her child also?!" I had lots of questions into my mind ... but maybe the fears made her act like that. And ... the Universe acted nice with her .... cause later on she found a new man. Again .... a wealthy guy. They had a good business in Paris. ... a beautiful 600 sqm house with swimming pool and garage. 2 Porsches. Short story ... all a couple could dream. Somehow ... the story was repeated. She was living the same experience again .... but this time she really had the life she thought she will have first time when she married. But ... again ... Dana surprised me with her perceptions. After being cheated many, many times ... in the first marriage .... Dana asked to her second husband to swear in front of God ... that he will never cheat on her. ... somehow believing him ... that all will be different than her first marriage. But one day ... Dana told me something that really changed.... my whole perceptions about the woman. It was a long talk. We've spoke on the phone that day maybe 2-3 hours. Somehow ... laughing .... she said ... "I've spoken recently with my husband ... and i've just told him... that if he will ever cheat on me ... i just want him to ... use a condom." I said ... "What?!" "Yes. It might happen. In France ... things like that can happen. I simply .... changed my mind. I know it can happen ... and my only request was to use a condom ... so that i don't get infected with ... a disease." I could not believe it. But ... at that time ... i was too busy to analyse all that ... in micro details. It was funny ... how she changed her perceptions. Extremely funny. Most probably ... she became realistic. Extremely realistic. And ... wise. Or maybe ... she allowed her husband ... what she started to adore doing. Flirting. Tasting energies. Connecting to new souls. ... without believing that this is something bad. But ... being realistic enough ... she knew that playing this game ... it might all end up ... as cheating. So ... she was into that point ... when she knew that ... we all have a dark side. Including her husband. Including herself ... but even if the marriage was nice ... that didn't necessarily meant that betrayal could not happen. I was just listening her ... for hours. And ... indeed I've learnt a lot from her ... but still ... even today ... when i analyse all a lot ... i can't agree with such obviously real case scenarios. Cause ... i am not a open minded person. I am ... too utopian. In my beliefs. In my actions. In my writings. In ... all. Maybe .... Dana was for me a great teacher ... but ... i am indeed ... a stupid student ... at this school of life.
