Impact of Supplementary Podcasting on Student Behavior, Attitude, and Performance

Book Description

"This paper examines the impact of educational, teacher-produced podcasting on student behavior, attitudes, and performance. Educators who employ podcasting in their classrooms find that students primarily access the podcasts using their computer or laptop, rather than a mobile device. Although educators fear that the use of podcasts will reduce classroom attendance, student attendance is not affected. Students express many reasons for both using and not using the podcasts, and it can be concluded that podcasts are mainly used for reviewing and revision purposes. Due to podcasting in education, students are more satisfied, motivated, and have less stress and anxiety about courses. When podcasts are used as a supplement to traditional lecture, they may have a positive impact or no impact whatsoever on student achievement, and performance. Overall, the use of podcasting in education has a positive impact on behavior, attitudes, and performance of students and is an effective tool for educators and students"--leaf 3.
