It proposes exploring these versions of history as an intellectual exercise to come to terms with the traumas of the past, and to prevent repeated tragedies in the future. This book identifies the direction in which the Jewish people and their future leaders will develop. Since the Jewish people have never experienced modern sovereignty before, it promises to usher in far-reaching changes. Making a diagnosis of a national neurosis as the cause for four previous fiascos in Jewish history, the book explains what must be done in the twenty-first century to prevent the dark forces of the past from recurring, and explores the changes awaiting the Jewish religion and nation in the Land of Israel.
