John Burk or Bourk was born in 1656. John was married several times, the name of the first wife was unknown. Their son was Thomas. His second wife was Mary. Their son was named John. John's third wife was Sarah Mayo. Their children were Mayo and Sarah. John's fourth wife was named Mary, and their daughters were named Lettice and Elizabeth. John's fourth wife was Ann Hutchins who's son was Henry. Other localities include Tennessee, Oklahoma, Louisiana, California, Indiana, Wyoming and Idaho.

The Ferguson Connection

Descendants of John Campbell Ferguson (1775-1862), who was born in Halifax Co., Va. He was married ca. 1811 to Mary ? born 1792 in Washington County, Virginia. John Ferguson first appears in Russell Co., Va. in 1797 when he is granted land there. John and Mary Ferguson had eleven children. Descendants of Andrew Ferguson (1793-1871), who was born in North Carolina and died in Russell Co., Virginia. He was married to Margaret Kelly (b. ca. 1802) in 1823 in Sullivan Co., Tennessee. She was born in Wythe Co., Va. Andrew Ferguson served as a Corporal in the War of 1812. He was drafted 1815 at Hendricks Store in Russell Co., Va. Andrew and Margaret Ferguson had thirteen children. Descendants live in Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, Oregon, Maryland, Washington and elsewhere.
