The Hidden Diamond

Book Description

Aldous takes pride in his well-formatted ability to remain in control. To achieve such a goal, he securely locks deep within himself all elements from the seven decades of his past that could shake his precisely placed footing. Then a new family moves across the street, and with it, a five-year-old boy named Dakota with an uncanny ability to gnaw under Aldous’s skin. Bit by bit, Aldous’s carefully placed façade peels away, allowing God’s enduring love to push Aldous to face his past and bring him to his knees, asking God’s forgiveness while finding new freedom. To forgive is to give up on the wish for a different past so that we might embrace the present. The Hidden Diamond is a powerful story of forgiveness. As a survivor of many forms of abuse, including molestation, I have made it a lifetime mission to break those chains of abuse so that I would not pass that curse onto my children. The Hidden Diamond developed out of my struggle to heal and find peace. I steadfastly believe God loves us all. God never gives up on anyone, even those whose sins have brought far more harm than good into this world. I formatted Aldous’s character from my effort to forgive and understand what demons had tormented those who had violated my childhood. Writing has become one of my most important healing tools. In my journey toward wholeness, I have learned that forgiveness is a crucial ingredient. We each have wounds that beg to be mended. Only God’s love provides us the strength so that we may forgive and fully heal.

The Father's Secret

Book Description

Like sands through an hourglass, there will come a time when our Father in heaven will reveal the secret that only he holds-not the Son, nor the angels but the Father only. That moment in this day and the hour that no one knows will occur in the twinkling of an eye. Within a very short period after this, not to exceed several months, the Antichrist will sign a seven-year peace treaty between Israel and the Arab nations. The signing of this peace treaty begins the earth's last 1007-year countdown. The first mention of this peace treaty is found in Daniel 9:27. In hindsight, we can understand why it made Daniel sick since the vision was given to him centuries before Christ was born. Daniel and the Revelation of Christ to John are closely related and chronologically explain these 1007 years. When the Father's secret is revealed, the generation of believers alive at that time will be changed to immortality and into an imperishable body suited for the New Jerusalem and eternity

The Hidden Paw's Second 50 Puzzles

Book Description

This second puzzle eBook contains a collection of 50 puzzles or riddles with their solutions. These brain teasers require insight to solve but not brute force. Some of them rely on common sense. Others are AHA or GOTCHA puzzles that Martin Gardner loved. There are some that rely on lateral thinking while others require convoluted logic to solve. Of interest are some uncommon puzzles such as cross numbers and puzzles extracted from real life situations. When selecting the puzzles, two attempts were made: 1) Not to include commonly available puzzles 2) Not to include puzzles that require general knowledge or expertise in specific domains (such as math or algebra). The intended age bracket is from early teens onwards.

Green Diamonds

Book Description

"While major league owners squabble over astronomical player salaries, TV revenue, their commissioner and each other, minor league teams across the country are playing the game of baseball the way it used to be played. In this world, owners know the fans by name, players willingly stay after the game to sign autographs, and a family of four can spend three hours at the ballpark - including the cost of soft drinks, beer, hot dogs plus a fireworks show after the game - for under twenty bucks." "America's 150 minor league teams provide family entertainment at bargain prices - and they're profitable. This just might be the kind of business you'd like to put some money in. The teams aren't traded on the New York Stock Exchange, and it's a good bet your broker doesn't know anything about the baseball business. But Jay Acton does, and in this funny, lively, informative book, he will tell you all about it." "But even if you never invest any more than the price of a ticket, Green Diamonds is must reading. Here's an inside look at the game that most informed fans know little about: the crazy promotions that pack minor league fans into the stadiums; the details of the way a team makes (and sometimes loses) money; why minor league owners and general managers believe working for a minor league team is the best job in the world." "If you're a potential investor, Green Diamonds will tell you all you need to know about the business side of baseball. If you just love the game of baseball, Green Diamonds belongs on your shelf as one of the most unusual and informative baseball books of this or any other season."--BOOK JACKET.Title Summary field provided by Blackwell North America, Inc.
