Now that you've cleaned out the garage or finally freed up some space in the basement, it's time to start planning your ideal home workshop. Fortunately, this second installment of the Home Woodworker Series has everything you need to create the efficient, safe, clean, and comfortable workspace you've envisioned for working with wood. Start with the workshop planner and use its tool templates and gridded worksheet to lay out a customized floor plan based on your dedicated space. Then follow the guide to decide on other needs for your shop, including flooring options, lighting and heating, dust collection, outfitting with compressed air, and fire safety. The guide also walks you through a garage shop makeover, providing detailed plans for space-saving components like carts, cabinets, and racks. Armed with an action plan based on the guide, you'll have all you need for setting up the perfect home workshop. Add in tools, a bench, and storage, and you can take your passion to the next level, building projects for the home, family, or to sell.

This book earns it's name! Over the course of 172 pages, I have taken all the great material in the first ed, and added to it a series of recipes and procedures which are very low profile and stunningly effective. This treasure trove of information features the Hardware Store Nitro recipe, fuel/air explosives, butt kicking ammonium nitrate formulations, nitromethane mixtures and a vastly improved detonator section. The fun doesn't stop there either. Read all about the construction of remote control cruise missiles and RC torpedoes. Claymore mines and air cannons add spice to the stew. Then top it off with my commentary on the easiest way to obtain all the materials one would need. I've read all the books on the topic of explosives, from tiny paperbacks to 600 page volumes written by PhDs. I have no hesitation saying I've topped them all!

The techniques of casting are of crucial importance in our day-to-day lives, being used in the manufacture of diverse products ranging from dental implants and hip replacement joints, through bicycle frames and car engine parts, to the most exquisite items of sculpture and jewellery. Nevertheless, the prospect of casting can seem daunting to the home metalworker. Casting for the Home Workshop aims to demystify the craft and make it accessible to all. Topics covered include the history of casting; tools, materials and equipment; techniques; the home foundry and post-casting operations. Will be of great interest to all home metalworkers and craftspeople and is fully illustrated with 280 colour and 75 black & white illustrations and 64 diagrams.
