The Influence of MDTA Training on Earnings

Book Description

This is the second Manpower Evaluation Report dealing with the earnings of graduates of institutional training under the Manpower Development and Training Act (MDTA). Data have now been accumulated on the record of more than 100,000 persons who completed MDTA institutional training during 1965 and 1966 and who were reported as employed following their training. The present study has advanced sufficient evidence to show that occupational training combined where necessary with related manpower services results in upward earnings mobility. These results attest to the effectiveness of the MDTA institutional training program for the majority of those who complete their training, but at the same time show that it is only a single tool-sometimes only an initial step-in helping to overcome the complex problems of unemployment and the need for development of our human resources to the point where all or most can share in the abundance of our economy.
