The Integration of Church & State

Book Description

WE MUST PUT GOD BACK IN OUR GOVERNMENT! The Integration of Church and State begins in Chapter One debunking one of the biggest lies of our generation, the oft-repeated phrase "The Separation of Church and State." The remaining chapters look at many crucial political issues that our country is facing today through the lens of God's Word. --From the Introduction "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord." Psalm 33:12 Nolan Lewallen is a retired pilot of a major airline and lives near Stephenville, TX with his wife, Kim. Together, they have seven grown children and four grandchildren. Nolan's two greatest passions are the Bible and politics, so The Integration of Church & State is the culmination of the two. Politics for Christians

Book Description

Politics is concerned with citizenship and the administration of justice--how communities are formed and governed. The role of Christians in the political process is hotly contested, but as citizens, Francis Beckwith argues, Christians have a rich heritage of sophisticated thought, as well as a genuine responsibility, to contribute to the shaping of public policy. In particular, Beckwith addresses the contention that Christians, or indeed religious citizens of any faith, should set aside their beliefs before they enter the public square. What role should religious citizens take in a liberal democracy? What is the proper separation of church and state? What place should be made for natural rights and the moral law within a secular state? This cogent introduction to political thought surveys political science, politics and government while making the case for how statecraft may genuinely contribute to soulcraft. Politics for Christians is part of The Christian Worldview Integration Series.

Christian Churches in European Integration

Book Description

All too often religion is largely ignored as a driver of identity formation in the European context, whereas in reality Christian Churches are central players in European identity formation at the national and continental level. Christian Churches in European Integration challenges this tendency, highlighting the position of churches as important identity formers and actors in civil society. Analysing the role of Churches in engaging with two specific EU issues – that of EU treaty reform and ongoing debates about immigration and asylum policy – the author argues that Churches are unique participants in European integration. Establishing a comprehensive view of Christian Churches as having a vital role to play in European integration, this book offers a substantial and provocative contribution both to our understanding of the European Union and the broader question of how religious and state institutions interact with one another.
