This document details the revised minimum core to be included within the new initial teacher education programmes and it applies to initial teacher training qualifications in the lifelong learning sector in England as from September 2007. All teachers are required to have the literacy, language, numeracy and ICT knowledge, understanding and personal skills as defined by the minimum core. This will equip teachers to develop inclusive approaches to addressing the literacy, language, numeracy and ICT needs of their learners.
