We have not been able to present as large a publication as an tici pated, owing to the limited time we had for compiling the work, as well as obtaining the names of all foreign Numismatic societies, mints and collectors, while many familiar names are left out by request, as well as those of amateurs and others that are not reliable. We hepe, however, that Our next edition will be worthy of special notice, and give better satisfaction than the present, and While a few monopolists may consider the Directory detrimental to their interests, we hope that with the majority it will {meet with favor, have a tendency to equalize trade as well as prices; create a greater interest, enlarge business and be a mutual benefit to all.
