Excerpt from The Rules and by-Laws of the Overseers of Harvard College: To Which Is Appended the Charter, With Sundry Acts and Instruments Relating to the Powers and Duties of the Overseers When a vacancy occurs at any other time, it shall be filled by election of the remainder of the term. In the absence of the Secretary, a secretary pro tempore shall be chosen. Section 4. - The annual meeting of the Overseers shall be held in Boston, on the second Wednesday of July. The other stated meetings shall be held at Cambridge on Commencement Day, and at Boston on the second Wednesday of January, April, and October in each year, at some central place to be selected by the Secretary, unless designated by the Board.
