Its chief purpose, however, is that of a sunday-school Hymnal; and in the conviction that only the best is good enough for children, the Editor has aimed to gather together in this volume only such hymns and tunes as have real merit, and as will exercise a correct and healthy formative influence in the development of the child's devotional life.
