Sound as an instrument of healing is not a new concept by any means. Sound has a vital connection to the communication pathways between the body and its central nervous system. It has long been used to transform the vibrational frequencies within the body and heal energetic patterns caused by emotional distress and trauma. Doctors of Chinese Energetic Medicine have long studied the effects of these patterns and have found that physical, psychological, and emotional trauma can be stored or stuck within the body's tissues and internal organs resulting in imbalances within the body. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, each organ system is associated with an emotion. The liver is associated with anger, frustration, and irritability, just as the lung is associated with sadness and grief. I Can Heal With Sound looks at sound through the lense of a child trying to regulate their emotions. With the use of the voice as a healing instrument, sound has the ability to transform challenging emotions and feelings, regulate the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system, strengthen immune response within the body, and reset the fight or flight response that is triggered by these emotions. Through the practice of these specific healing sounds, children will be given the tools to better navigate and release any negative thoughts or emotions that arise so that the body can more easily return to a state of balance.
