Don’T Be a Foolish Virgin!

Book Description

The Title of the book is Dont Be a Foolish Virgin! The sub-title is Confessions of a Foolish Virgin. When God gave me this title a few years ago, I did not understand what he wanted me to write. As I was studying the Bible a few years later, I came across this scripture, Therefore this is what the LORD says: Inquire among the nations: Who has ever heard anything like this? A most horrible thing has been done by Virgin Israel. Jeremiah 18:13 (NIV) and in Amos 5:1-2a says, Listen, you people of Israel! Listen to this funeral song I am singing: The virgin Israel has fallen Virgin is the Children of Israel, in current day we too are the Children of Israel. All of us are included. My Introduction starts with one of my favorite scriptures, But the jar he was making did not turn out as he had hoped, so he crushed it into a lump of clay again and started over. Jeremiah 18:4. God is giving me an extreme makeover. This book is my story of how God showed me his unconditional love. You will learn what sin is, where sin came from, when and why we sin, who has sinned and the side-effects of sin. You will walk through forgiveness, asking and accepting forgiveness, and forgiving yourself and others. My goal is to help you focus on your state of mind when you fall and prepare you to avoid the attacks of the enemy. Your eyes will be opened to Gods unconditional love for you as you read about Hoseas obedience to God by marrying Gomer, a harlot, to show his unconditional love for the Children of Israel. Do you know what your special needs are? If not, youll find out. Ill briefly discuss our opportunities to share with others how God has comforted and forgiven us. There is a personal Spiritual Assessment at the end of the book. This fifteen page assessment is for the reader to examine themselves. To guide them as to what areas of their lives that needs attention. God is waiting!

Singled Out

Book Description

Almost three-quarters of a million British soldiers lost their lives during the First World War, and many more were incapacitated by their wounds, leaving behind a generation of women who, raised to see marriage as "the crown and joy of woman's life," suddenly discovered that they were left without an escort to life's great feast. Drawing upon a wealth of moving memoirs, Singled Out tells the inspiring stories of these women: the student weeping for a lost world as the Armistice bells pealed, the socialite who dedicated her life to resurrecting the ancient past after her soldier love was killed, the Bradford mill girl whose campaign to better the lot of the "War spinsters" was to make her a public figure--and many others who, deprived of their traditional roles, reinvented themselves into something better. Tracing their fates, Nicholson shows that these women did indeed harbor secret sadness, and many of them yearned for the comforts forever denied them--physical intimacy, the closeness of a loving relationship, and children. Some just endured, but others challenged the conventions, fought the system, and found fulfillment outside of marriage. From the mill-girl turned activist to the debutante turned archeologist, from the first woman stockbroker to the "business girls" and the Miss Jean Brodies, this book memorializes a generation of young women who were forced, by four of the bloodiest years in human history, to stop depending on men for their income, their identity, and their future happiness. Indeed, Singled Out pays homage to this remarkable generation of women who, changed by war, in turn would change society.

Reincarnated Virgins Dilemma

Book Description

This novel will keep you glued to the pages from start to finish as it takes many unexpected turns. Dawie van der Heifer was born into an extremely poor family, the third eldest of twelve living children. His father was an alcoholic, and his mother died giving birth to her umpteenth stillborn child. After running away from home he found work on a rich man’s farm and soon became the nymphomaniac wife’s lover and student, learning the ways of the world, following her around the European houses of ill repute, as well a the casinos where he made enormous amounts of money. Seeking a life of his own he returns home with a great deal of money and teaches his siblings what he has learnt from the French brothels. Together they turn their derelict farm house into a magnificent spa, attracting the rich from across the world. During this time Amanda Jooste and Andries van Aswegen, both rich and powerful people, have an affair and produce a child, Elizabeth. This causes their relationship to sour. Elizabeth, a naive clean-living farm girl, never knows her true identity and when she dies in a motor accident her astral being drifts around the universe for ten years looking for a cadaver into which she can be reincarnated. Amanda, Elizabeth’s mother, worked hard for the community but like the rest of them looked down on the Van der Heifer’s. This perception she passed onto Elizabeth. The mortal remains that Elizabeth’s astral soul chose to inhabit is, unbeknown to her, none other than that of Magriet, the eldest of Dawie’s sisters. When she discovers this, and also who some of the clients are whom she is expected to service, things become a dilemma for the virgin Elizabeth.

England's Elizabeth

Book Description

No monarch is more glamorous or more controversial than Elizabeth I. The stories by which successive generations have sought to extol, explain, or excoriate Elizabeth supply a rich index to the cultural history of English nationalism - whether they represent her as Anne Boleyn's suffering orphan or as the implacable nemesis of Mary, Queen of Scots, as learned stateswoman or as frustrated lover, persecuted princess or triumphant warrior queen. This book examines the many afterlives the Virgin Queen has lived in drama, poetry, fiction, painting, propaganda, and the cinema over the four centuries since her death, from the aspiringly epic to the frankly kitsch. Exploring the Elizabeths of Shakespeare and Spenser, of Sophia Lee and Sir Walter Scott, of Bette Davis and of Glenda Jackson, of Shakespeare in Love and Blackadder II, this is a lively, lavishly-illustrated investigation of England's perennial fascination with a queen who is still engaged in a posthumous progress through the collective pysche of her country.
