From the Year 1069 until 1917 Turks Ruled in Greater Parts of Middle East and also in todays Palestine. First e Seljukids, Artuqids and Zangids and later Mamluks and lastly Ottomans. But despite this nearly 850 years long rule the Turkish heritage and contribution is often overlooked and underestimated in the literature. One of the most significant and visible heritage in the sacred landscape of Palestine are the building activities and inscriptions that are fixed in these buildings. is book is a follow up to the in 2006 published Turkish Jerusalem (1516-1917), Ottoman Inscriptions from Jerusalem and Other Palestinian Cities, Was in the first volume recorded 122 inscriptions from Jerusalem and 18 inscriptions outside Jerusalem; in this second volume 134 inscriptions are recorded from towns outside Jerusalem and 9 from Jerusalem. Also the time range wider, was in the first volume almost all inscriptions from Ottoman times, this volume covers inscriptions from the first entrance of the first Turks in the year 1069 to the end of the Ottoman empire in 1917. So therefore the title of Turkish Palestine (1069-1917) is justified. e earliest inscription is from the year 476/1083. From next places next number of inscriptions are published. Hebron (73), Safed (12), Nabi Musa (7) Ramle (8), Nablus (5), Lod (5), Yavne (4), Jaffa (8), and from Tanturah, Haifa, Beysan, Azariya, Herzlya, Isdud, Dimra and Qalat Subaybah (1) inscription. ere are also recorded 9 inscriptions from Jerusalem that were missed in the first volume. Each inscription is accompanied by photographs and commentary on subject and form.

This book addresses the roles played by food co-operatives in the attempt to build alternative food networks, drawing on an in-depth analysis of case studies in Turkey. While many existing studies focus on food co-operatives and alternative food networks in the Global North, this book provides an important insight into a country from the Global South and, in doing so, not only provides a novel perspective but also challenges the rigid North–South categorization. The book provides a rounded view by examining both a producer and a consumer co-operative: BÜKOOP is a university-based consumer food co-operative, and the Vakıflı co-operative is a food-producing co-operative located in the Hatay province on the Mediterranean coast of Turkey. These two co-operatives, which have been working together for more than ten years, share the dream of establishing a network of co-operatives, in which producers exist in solidarity with consumers, blurring the dichotomy of producer versus consumer as well as rural versus urban. In addition to contributing towards a better understanding of the urban–rural divide, within the framework of alternative food networks, the in-depth analysis of these two cases enables us to explore how food co-operatives develop and how they keep their commitment to their original goals and ideals so as to help build an alternative food system. The lessons we learn from these two working case examples highlight the successes and areas of improvement for food co-operatives. They also provide evidence against the pessimism about alternative food networks by demonstrating that co-operatives can democratize both production and consumption. This book will be of interest to students and scholars studying alternative food networks, food justice, food sovereignty, transformation towards sustainable food systems, social movements, and the urban–rural divide.

'Two deep human needs are to master the world and to feel safe and secure. The Great Recession thwarted both needs for millions of people around the world. Cooper and Antoniou's global team of scholars address the psychological, economic, social, and other dimensions of our current crisis while charting paths whereby we can again satisfy these needs. Let us rise above the crisis and follow Aristotle's path to living well and faring well. This book offers a plan for doing so.' James Campell Quick, The University of Texas at Arlington, US An economic recession can affect the aggregate well-being of a population. This highly regarded and timely book shows a significant increase in the mean levels of distress and dissatisfaction in the work place in recent years. In particular, increasing job demands, intrinsic job insecurity and increasingly inadequate salaries make substantial contributions to psychological distress, family conflict and related behaviors. The contributors reveal that the recession has fundamentally altered the way employees view their work and leaders. With employers and employees still facing a continued period of uncertainty, a severe impact on employment relations is a continuing reality. Given the difficult economic times, many people are feeling the pressure to work harder. This book will be valuable for undergraduate students and practitioners in the fields of organizational behavior and human resource management.
