The oath of office by law prescribed was administered to the mayor-elect, John E. Benton, by Hon. H. B. Viall, who then introduced him to the aldermen and councilmen present. After roll-call by the clerk, His Honor Mayor Benton administered the oath of office to the following named members of the boards of aldermen and councilmen, to wit: Board Of Aldermen.
