The Natural Genesis

Book Description

The Natural Genesis

Book Description

Egyptologist Gerald Massey challenged readers in A Book of the Beginnings to consider the argument that Egypt was the birthplace of civilization and that the widespread monotheistic vision of man and the metaphysical was, in fact, based on ancient Egyptian mythos. In The Natural Genesis, Massey delivers a sequel, delving deeper into his compelling polemic. Volume II provides detailed discourse on the Egyptian origin of the delicate components of the monotheistic creed. With his agile prose, Massey leads an adventurous examination of the epistemology of astronomy, time, and Christology-and what it all means for human culture. British author GERALD MASSEY (1828-1907) published works of poetry, spiritualism, Shakespearean criticism, and theology, but his best-known works are in the realm of Egyptology, including A Book of the Beginnings and Ancient Egypt: The Light of the World.

A Lifetime of Genesis

Book Description

For many readers of the Bible, there are two major obstacles to the enjoyment of scripture: comprehension and relevancy. In A Lifetime of Genesis, Rabbi Zoob seeks to help the reader overcome these obstacles. In clear, logical prose, Rabbi Zoob explains the course of the Covenant of Abraham in Genesis and how each major player--Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Sarah, Rebekah, Rachel, and Leah--has an impact on the development and continuity of the Covenant of Abraham. He solves the relevancy problem by sharing stories from his life that are connected to the patriarchal and matriarchal events and themes in each previous chapter. For example, following an analysis of the challenge of infertility that Abraham and Sarah faced, he tells the story of how he and his wife Barbara struggled through thirteen years of childlessness. And after the chapter on how Jacob wrestled with the angel and the many challenges in his life, Rabbi Zoob recalls his sibling struggles with his brother and his wrestling with seasonal depression. Rabbi Zoob hopes that his use of this midrashic process to discover personal insights will encourage the reader to do the same.

Will You Sparkle in the Light

Book Description

One evening, while studying her Bible, the Holy Spirit took author Linda Evans in the Spirit to the edge of a vast field of wheat. It was night, yet a bright light shone on the field lighting every blade of golden bearded wheat. The wheat made a soft rustling sound as it swayed in the breeze. It looked like soft, golden, rolling waves of the sea. As Linda watched, her heart pounding, a fine mist resembling a black fog came rolling in and hovered over the field in mid air like a blanket. The fog was thick and hovered about a foot over the top of the field. In the distance, sitting in the middle of the field, was a storage shack, aged and nearly falling down. Suddenly, out of the darkness of the left of heaven came a huge flash of light, accompanied by the terrifying sound of crackling lightening so loud it sounded like an electrical stage production backed up with the roar of thunder. The lightening struck the shack, and the shack began to burn. As the flames roared and crackled, Linda was speechless. She didn’t know where she was and didn’t know what was happening. Then something in the right of the heavens caught her attention ...

I Am Is

Book Description

Is God really out there? How can we know? Did God give us evidence that can’t be reasonably ignored? The only logical way to prove His existence is to use the evidence God gave us for that purpose. That is what we will explore in this book. As we go through this evidence, we will also see His plan, what He is doing now, what He is waiting for, why He is waiting, your part in the plan, how He will answer all your questions, and the ultimate end: a peaceful universe. Author Dan Tierney is confident that, if you honestly pursue the evidence that God has given, you will come to the solid conclusion that God is real. If it is the truth, it will all fit together and make sense. He also includes some helpful material about the origin of life and the physical evidence for a worldwide flood. Moses asked God what to tell the Israelites when they ask what His name is. God gave him the answer, “I AM has sent me to you,” Exodus 3:14. We also must believe that “He is,” Hebrews 11:6. Hence, the title of the book. What are you waiting for? Come now and let us reason together.

Unlearned & Ignorant Commentary

Book Description

These are my simple and practical notes for all of the books of the Bible. I am currently in the process of still writing all of my notes out, so not all of the chapters are there yet, but I have quite a few books of the Bible done, and am about 25% of the way through the rest of the Bible. I will update this ever time a book is finished, so it updates to the purchaser, but if you'd like to pay ahead of time you can get the books quicker and cheaper now. The more books I add, the more expensive it will become. I've been working on this for about two years now, and will continue to work on it for another (likely another six more years to finish the entire Bible (hopefully sooner)). Thank you for supporting my work, and I hope it's a useful tool for you as you dig deeper into God's Word. It should also be understood, I am not a scholar by any means (I just like to dig around in scripture, and answer difficult questions, hence the title of the book). Some of my thoughts are taken from much smarter men than me, and if I know where the source comes from, I will do my best to make mention of it and give credit where credit is due. Otherwise, these are things I got from my own personal studies, and all the stories I give are from personal experience.
