Book Description

Excerpt from Transactions of the Odontological Society of Great Britain, Vol. 16 On taking his seat, the president said he was glad to see SO good an attendance of members, and trusted they had come prepared to enter upon the work of a new session with renewed vigour after the recess. He should be glad to see a larger proportion of the members taking an active part in the proceedings; it would add much to the life of the Society's meetings if the members generally were more willing to take their Share in the discussions on the casual communications and the paper of the evening. The Minutes of the previous meeting having been read and confirmed, The president called upon the Curator to exhibit the chief additions which had been made to the museum Since the last meeting of the Society. Transactions of the Odontological Society of Great Britain, Vol. 9 (Classic Reprint)

Book Description

Excerpt from Transactions of the Odontological Society of Great Britain, Vol. 9 Mr. White, referring to Mr. Fothergill's models, asked if any tendency had been found in the canines to run out Since they had been brought in. He generally found in such cases that if they got a tooth in, there was a great tendency for it to run out again. In one case where he brought in the whole of the six incisors, which laid over the lower lip, he made the patient wear a plate for two years, by which time they were brought in and very much improved 3 but two years afterwards they were out again very nearly a quarter of an inch. One often met with these cases, and it was very desirable to get these canines in and keep them in if possible.
