H., For the Financial Year 1937 My first act as Mayor of Nashua is to thank my predecessor in office, Alvin A. Lucier, for all he has done during the past four years for the good of our city. The people of Nashua have entrusted us with the high privilege of serving them in their municipal government. We share a com mon purpose: to maintain a city of which we can all be justly proud and to make Nashua even a better city to live in. We seek to give to the people of Nashua the best possible government. Our objec tive is a clean city with fine streets, well policed, efficiently governed, with splendid schools for our children and grandchildren, - a city in which no imposter lingers upon the relief rolls and in which no one entitled to relief is permitted to suffer in silence. These things we seek. Seeking them we shall not forget that one of the greatest benefits of good government is a minimum burden of taxation. There fore we shall keep expenditures at the lowest amount consistent with the purposes for which our city government exists.
