The ratio of Taxation however, it is confidently, believed will not be greater than it was the past year, as the increased value of the real and personal Estates of the Citizens, between the lst of May, 1846, and the first of May, 1847, will no doubt be found fully competent to afford the sum Required at a rate not exceeding the per centage of last year, viz., Six Dollars per thousand.
