The 'Vault Guide to Private Equity and Hedge Fund Interviews' is a new title covering all levels in the private equity and hedge fund recruiting interview space, including the junior, pre-MBA interviews which share the same checklists for the interviewing process. Getting a position in hedge funds and private equity boils down to one question: Will you make money for the firm? The entire interview is devoted to determining that answer. Not only that, candidates needs to make it past the headhunters who pre-judge them, answer technical finance and accounting questions about a field that they may have zero experience with, and even be tested on the spot by being asked to create an Excel model from scratch or presenting a case study.
