This transcription and index was completed after several years of effort. I made every attempt to represent the original grammar and punctuation as it was written. If there is any doubt that my interpretation is correct for a given individual, please refer to a copy of the original document at your local library. This compilation is a guide to the 1850 census for York County and does not claim to be without flaw. I am human and we all make mistakes. However, my years of experience with old handwriting give me the confidence to publish this document with pride.
