Learn storage system usage in various solutions to meet enterprise companyÕs business objectives DESCRIPTION With advancement of computer, mobile and popularity of internet and social media, digital data is growing exponentially. Current total global data is almost double than what was there two years back. Computer storage technologies have become most important and critical that supports this enormous growth of digital data and stores them more efficiently. Therefore demand for computer storage knowledge increased drastically in recent years. Ê This book explains the basic concept of computer storage and its fundamental features and functionalities. It also includes topics on how the application servers access storage systems through the network. Different storage vendors use different name for physical and logical components of a storage system, but this book primarily focuses on concept of storage systems using simple and commonly understood terminologies. Almost all modern storage systems have virtualization implemented to enhance performance and fault tolerance. This book explains these implementation aspects in simple terms. KEY FEATURES Different type of storage systems and their solutions are discussed. Learn the components of a storage solution, storage disk array, host servers, storage networking components and their communications. Storage performance, fault tolerance and space efficiency and their related features are explained in detailed. Version 2.0 of the .NET Framework will offer powerful enhancements to ADO.NET that will give application and service developers unprecedented control over their data. In A First Look at ADO.NET and System.Xml v. 2.0, Microsoft's lead program manager on XML technologies joins with two leading .NET and XML experts to present a comprehensive preview of tomorrow's ADO.NET and System.Xml classes. Drawing on the first .NET Framework 2.0 Technology Preview Release, the authors introduce powerful new techniques for simplifying development, enhancing flexibility, and leveraging .NET's new support for emerging XML standards. They also preview important new synergies between .NET Framework 2.0, XML, and the next version of SQL Server (code-named Yukon). This book's detailed coverage includes: Clear explanations of Microsoft's data-access intentions and directions--so you'll be ready when .NET 2.0 arrives A brief overview of ObjectSpaces--the exciting new technology for using objects that represent and hold their own dataMajor improvements in bulk loading, batch execution, and paging Support for truly asynchronous connection and command operationsIn-process server-side cursors for programmat

This volume constitutes the papers of several workshops which were held in conjunction with the 26th International Conference on Database Systems for Advanced Applications, DASFAA 2021, held in Taipei, Taiwan, in April 2021. The 29 revised full papers presented in this book were carefully reviewed and selected from 84 submissions. DASFAA 2021 presents the following five workshops: 6th International Workshop on Big Data Quality Management (BDQM 2021) 5th International Workshop on Graph Data Management and Analysis (GDMA 2021) First International Workshop on Machine Learning and Deep Learning for Data Security Applications (MLDLDSA 2021) 6th International Workshop on Mobile Data Management, Mining, and Computing on Social Network (MobiSocial 2021) 2021 International Workshop on Mobile Ubiquitous Systems and Technologies (MUST 2021) Due to the Corona pandemic this event was held virtually.

The emergence of the cloud and modern, fast corporate networks demands that you perform judicious balancing of computational loads. Practical Load Balancing presents an entire analytical framework to increase performance not just of one machine, but of your entire infrastructure. Practical Load Balancing starts by introducing key concepts and the tools you'll need to tackle your load-balancing issues. You'll travel through the IP layers and learn how they can create increased network traffic for you. You'll see how to account for persistence and state, and how you can judge the performance of scheduling algorithms. You'll then learn how to avoid performance degradation and any risk of the sudden disappearance of a service on a server. If you're concerned with running your load balancer for an entire network, you'll find out how to set up your network topography, and condense each topographical variety into recipes that will serve you in different situations. You'll also learn about individual servers, and load balancers that can perform cookie insertion or improve your SSL throughput. You'll also explore load balancing in the modern context of the cloud. While load balancers need to be configured for high availability once the conditions on the network have been created, modern load balancing has found its way into the cloud, where good balancing is vital for the very functioning of the cloud, and where IPv6 is becoming ever more important. You can read Practical Load Balancing from end to end or out of sequence, and indeed, if there are individual topics that interest you, you can pick up this book and work through it once you have read the first three chapters.

This is the first graduate textbook on the algorithmic aspects of real algebraic geometry. The main ideas and techniques presented form a coherent and rich body of knowledge. Mathematicians will find relevant information about the algorithmic aspects. Researchers in computer science and engineering will find the required mathematical background. Being self-contained the book is accessible to graduate students and even, for invaluable parts of it, to undergraduate students. This second edition contains several recent results on discriminants of symmetric matrices and other relevant topics.

The cheapest carrier for creating backup copies – tape. Bacula will use it too. Tape library – is a device that usually has at least two streamers, shelves where tapes might be and a robot, i.e. an arm to carry tapes between shelves and drives. Currently, using streamers, tape libraries and autoloaders is the cheapest mechanism for creating backup copies. The advantage of such a mechanism is a low tape cost, possibility to create copies of various kinds and full growth or differential copies, and possibility to create backup policies. The micro-course describes the system of streamer support in the Bacula system. Keywords: bacula, bconsole, tape drive, streamerm tape, backup tape, mtx, mtx-changer
